FIRST DRIVE: Lotus Emira With AMG Power! | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vZLYjtbWaI

Say hello to Lotus’ entry-level Emira. It uses the same turbocharged 2.0-litre ‘M139’ four-cylinder lunatic of an engine that powers AMG’s hottest hatch. Except, whereas it makes 415bhp in the A45 S, here it’s reined in to a sensible 360bhp. But, despite being entry-level, it is not a cheap and cheerful door to Lotus ownership. Right now Lotus will only sell you a kitted out ‘First Edition’ model, and it’s priced from a chunky £81,495. That’s £4,500 less than the adjusted pricing for the V6 ‘First Edition’. It’s gone from dicing with the basic, brilliant Alpine A110 to asking well-seasoned Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0 money. You could buy a BMW M2 manual – or the car that the Emira owes its engine to – and save £10,000. So, is this the Emira to have? Top Gear Magazine’s Ollie Kew finds out.

FIRST LOOK: Porsche 911 ST – Ultimate 911 with GT3 RS Power | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSTw33llAKE

Welcome to the Porsche 911 S/T. Designed by Porsche as a present to itself on the 60th anniversary of the 911 (there’s 1,963 planned in honour of the birth year), the S/T revives a grand old name from 1969 when a 911 S was sprinkled with a touch of motorsport fairy dust to become the S/T – a fearsome competition car that did without the aid of big wings and hefty aero. A kind of beautiful Frankenstein’s monster, the S/T was a competition car, but not prolific. The modern S/T follows the same path, though with much more modern vim. Mounted in the back is the naturally-aspirated, 521bhp 4-litre boxer from the GT3 RS coupled to that short-ratio manual (with shorter cogs than a GT3). There are no big wings bar a short Gurney flap on the electric rear spoiler, which itself doesn’t raise quite as high as other 911s. The rear-wheel steer system is ditched to save weight and complexity, and the bonnet, front wings, ‘cage, rear anti-roll bars and shear panel underneath are all carbon fibre. The wheels are centre-lock and magnesium, the glass thinned to shave precious pounds. Even the battery has been on a diet, and now consists of a lightweight race-style lithium-ion unit. Cobble all this together with the slim carbon bucket seats along with weight savings from the powertrain and clutch, and the S/T becomes the lightest production 911. With a kerbweight of 1,380kg, it’s 40kg lighter than a manual GT3 Touring. There are plenty more facts and figures, and who better to show Top Gear magazine’s Tom Ford around the new Super 911 than the man behind it and the boss of Porsche's GT division, Andreas Preuninger. FIRST DRIVE: BMW M2 – 454bhp RWD Manual Coupe + Cayman GT4 & BMW 1M Comparison | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Si8DaRQ7io

The BMW M2 is the smallest, least expensive M car. Only, this new one isn’t really that small (44mm wider than the old one at the front, and 18mm wider at the rear) and it’s certainly not inexpensive at a whisker under £70k. It is, however, the only remaining mainstream manual M car in the UK – and the 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight six’s power goes to the rear wheels only. So is BMW’s 454bhp, rear-drive, manual-optioned M4-lite a recipe for success? Well, we brought along the best-in-class – and an old-time favourite – for a stick-shift showdown. 00:00 – Intro

Hillclimbing a priceless Porsche 953 Paris-Dakar in the wet | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-5_RqTPQo4

Driving a Porsche 953 Paris-Dakar up a hill. Easy, right? After all, it's a car that was designed to do just that. But driving someone else's priceless 953, from Porsche's museum collection in Stuttgart, up a slippery, off-camber hill, at pace, the first time you've sat in the car? That adds a little pressure. Throw in a few thousand spectators and some telly cameras and… here's what it's like to drive the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with TG mag's Ollie Marriage. FIRST LOOK: Hyundai Ioniq 5 N – INSANE 641bhp Hot Hatch! | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp8YmY2Tmmg

There are many silly, cringe-inducing labels attached to Hyundai N’s first ever fully electric performance machine, but the seriousness with which they are deployed will make your brain melt. One of those being the ‘N Grin Boost’ mode which unleashes a very serious power hike from the 5 N’s ‘standard’ 580bhp to 641bhp for 10 seconds, accomplished via its dual electric motors. That means it'll go from 0-62mph in 3.4s and max out at 162mph. There’s also a mode that simulates the behaviour of a DCT gearbox, plus the ability to change the sound emitted by the 5 N: either a straightforward 2.0-litre turbo, something akin to the RN22e concept, or an actual twin-engine fighter jet. Fighter jets all day long, please. Top gear Magazine’s Ollie Marriage heads to Korea to take a closer look. Chapters:

Tamiya Wild One Max: £35k Road-Legal RC Car! | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVzXftovrEI

This is the kind of car that reminds us all that being childish isn’t a bad thing at all. In a genius tie-up, The Little Car Co – whose usual 75 per cent remakes are of famous classics like the Aston DB5 or Bugatti Type 35 – is building a Wild One you can drive. You get a spaceframe long and wide enough to take two full-sized adults in proper Cobra Racing bucket seats, a 38bhp electric motor and eight swappable, modular battery packs that make up 14.4kWh of juice. That’s enough for roughly 68 miles of off-road driving or 125 miles on-road if you’re careful. Brakes are by Brembo, springs are by Eibach, adjustable dampers by Bilstein. Tyres are Maxxis front and rear on 14s, and there’s not much else to it. Although the first 100 Launch Edition cars do get a little plaque and a limited edition Wild One R/C car included in the price. Which is £35,000 (excluding VAT and shipping), by the way, so not beans. There’ll be a cheaper one later, possibly that you can build yourself, possibly without the road-legal bits (windscreen, lights, wipers, number plates etc), but that’s all yet to be finalised. And if that sounds expensive, then it probably is, for a toy. But for a little car that makes absolutely everyone grin when they see it, it’s cheap at half the price.
