The question is, does BMW’s smallest M car have a chance against the likes of AMG, Audi & Porsche? Well, it’s time to find out! Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by Audi’s glorious 2.5-litre 5 cylinder turbo engine that can produce 400hp and 500Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox. It weighs in at 1,570kg, and if you’re looking to pick one up it’ll cost you around £54,000. To its right we have the recently revised Mercedes-AMG A45 S. It’s packing a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo under the bonnet that can put down 421hp and 500Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,550kg. It’s a bit more expensive than the Audi, too, costing around £63,000. On the far side we have the Porsche 718 Boxster GTS. It’s the most expensive car here, coming in at £75,300! What’s more, it’s also the least powerful car here, with the 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six producing 400hp and 430Nm. This power is only sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, however, it’s also the lightest car here, coming in at just 1,435kg. Then finally we have the all-new BMW M2. It’s equipped with a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, and as a result, it’s the most powerful car here, putting down 460hp and 550Nm of torque! Just like the Porsche this power is sent to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and a new one today will cost around 1,720kg. However, it’s by far the heaviest car here, tipping the scales at 1,720kg! So how will this one play out – will the weight difference prove decisive? Or will the M2’s extra power push it to victory?
