A loose, worn, or age hardened belt is prone to slip, and that can make a chirping squealing noise. Belt pulleys with bad bearings can grind, chirp or squeal. Worst of all, if a stuck frozen seized pulley can't turn, the belt slips over it, making lots of nose, and also heating and wearing out the belt, which will break it sooner than later! In this short, Sue points out the problem behind our squealing noise!

The problem is likely a seized brake caliper! When brake calipers stick, or seize up, the brake pads remain in contact with the brake rotor while your drive, which creates lots of friction and head. It's basically like driving around with your foot on the brake pedal the whole time! In this video, hot smelly brakes lead Andy to diagnose the brake caliper, where he discovers rusted slider pins. The slider pins need to move in and out freely. If they get stuck, the brake caliper can remain clamped down on the brake rotor, which in turn heat up the brakes excessively. Andy points out the problem, shows you how you might be able to unstick and repair the rusted sliders, but ultimately replaces the caliper entirely, which is the safest option. Ticking, Clicking Noise Coming From Your Engine? Diagnosing Collapsed Lifters!

For More Info visit us at: http://1aau.to/h/cKE/ In this video, Andy diagnoses a top end clicking or ticking noise in our Chevy Avalanche! Andy locates the clicking noise to the top driver side of the 5.3L V8 engine, and also discovers an intermittent misfire in cylinder 1. After removing the valve cover, he discovers a very loose rocker, which is the source of our noise. He determines the rocker is loose because its lifter has collapsed, meaning it's not pushing up on the rocker when activated by the camshaft. The fault is in the AFM (active fuel management) lifter, which can be disabled by engine management to make the engine more fuel efficient. The lifter failed, so it was not able to be activated again by oil pressure. Andy replaced the lifter, and after that, the noise was gone!
