In this video, Sue explains the different types of gaskets, why they are important, and what you should do when repairing or replacing parts that need them! Gaskets come in many shapes, sizes and materials, like rubber, silicone, paper, metal, and combinations of those! Gaskets seal joints to prevent air, oil, coolant, and other fluids and gasses from leaking in or out of your car or truck's engine and systems. Its important to use new gaskets, or ensure gaskets are in good clean condition before reusing them. Also, liquid gaskets, such as RTV, are inappropriate to use in combination with some gasket types, especially paper!
