Day 5 recap. With 90-percent of the build behind us, it’s the remaining tasks that are going to be the true tests of patience and will. The most important task of all—the firing and subsequent tuning of the C10’s ZZ6 small-block—was met with a round of applause just as it was crossed off the to-do list early on Day Five. United Pacific took the electrified opportunity to complete the installation of their LED lighting components, from the 7-inch headlights and amber running lights to the sequential taillights. The wheels were finally dropped off with their new Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires mounted so we could get the C10 down on all fours in preparation of its first test drive later this evening.

Day 4 recap. Things are motoring along! The ’71 Chevy has been “non-LS” retrofit with a 350 small-block courtesy of Gandrud Chevrolet. Once we get our custom-built driveshaft from OC Driveline, that combined 400-plus horsepower will be aptly handled by the Strange Engineering ’67-72 C10 bolt-in 9-inch installed on Day One. We still have the remainder of Day Four before we enter the final 24 hours of the United Pacific Week to Wicked presented by Classic Trucks—stay tuned!

Day 2 recap. At the end of Day 2, the majority of the components have been installed—that’s nearly an entire chassis upgrade in less than 48 hours. The crew completed the truck’s steering system, and threw on a set of 18-inch Racers from American Legend Wheels—but you’ll have to wait till Day 3 to see as they’re currently out getting some fresh rubber courtesy of Continental Tires.
