Ferrari 296 GTB v Ferrari SF90: DRAG RACE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg5Wh18LUtI

Thanks to everyone for lending us their cars:
- Ferrari SF90: https://www.instagram.com/alwaysturnleft/
- Ferrari 296 GTB: https://www.instagram.com/davidross1972/ We know you’ve been waiting for this one! We’ve got two incredible Ferrari hybrid supercars going head-to-head over the quarter-mile! The question is, can the newer 296 GTB beat the almighty tri-motor SF90? Well, let’s take a closer look. Starting with the 296 GTB, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 coupled with an electric motor. These drive the rear wheels and combine to produce 830hp and 740Nm of torque. It still remains pretty light, tipping the scales at 1,470kg. Then we have the SF90. It comes equipped with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with three electric motors – two at the front and one at the back. Combined, they produce an eye-watering 1,000hp and 800Nm, pushing this power through all four wheels. It’s a bit heavier than the 296 GTB, though, at 1,570kg. So how will this play out? The SF90 may have more power, but the 296 is lighter! Will the weight difference prove to be decisive? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE! The last REAL supercar!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1r8soGJ0qg

This is the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica, the last Lamborghini to be powered solely by a V10 engine! Mat’s got his hands on this RWD supercar and he’s about to find out if the swan song for the Huracan is the best yet. In terms of the design, it’s still clearly a Huracan, but there are a few changes to help you distinguish it compared to the standard Huracan Evo. Up front, there’s a redesigned front bumper coupled with a carbon fibre bonnet. Along the sides, you’ll find some unique alloy wheels. Around the back, there’s a fixed spoiler, a redesigned bumper and a pair of hexagonal tailpipes. All-in-all, this is pretty much the best-looking Huracan to date! Take a step inside and the changes aren’t so clear. Sure it looks pretty different in this video, but our Huracan Tecnica has been fitted with a number of optional extras, such as the bucket seats, door inlays, air vents and Alcantara steering wheel – sadly, none of these come as standard! The only changes the Tecnica gets over the standard car are a revised digital dial display, a new infotainment system and changes to the seats. At least there are changes to the engine compared to the standard Evo! The Tecnica comes with a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can produce 640hp and 565Nm of torque – just like the Huracan STO. In terms of price, the Huracan Tecinica will set you back £212,000. That’s £15,000 more than the Evo, but £46,000 less than the STO! But is it the best Huracan to date? Sit back and join Mat to find out for yourself! Chapters

850hp BMW M3 v 860hp Ford Mustang: DRAG RACE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Dr9Ah2bMuI

Thanks to everyone for lending us their cars for this drag:
- BMW F80 M3: https://www.instagram.com/tomwrigleyperformance/
- Ford Mustang CS850: https://www.clivesutton.co.uk/ It’s time for two tuned RWD monsters to go head-to-head over the quarter-mile! First up we have Mat in an F80 BMW M3. Normally this would be powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, however in this instance, the two turbos have been switched for one massive turbo, and as a result, it can produce 950hp and 1,100Nm of torque! However, it can only hit that much power on a prepared surface while it’s rolling on drag slicks, and seeing as we have neither of them, the power has been dialled down to 850hp & 950Nm. Next up we have the Mustang. Under the bonnet it’s powered by a 5-litre V8, however, this one has had a supercharger added to it, so the output is now 859hp and 902Nm!! The BMW also has one key advantage over the Mustang – it comes with an automatic gearbox, while the Mustang is a manual! Will the transmission prove the difference? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
