……………………………………………………. Mat has finally got his hands on the record-breaking Mercedes EQXX – and he’s going to find out just what it’s like to drive! He’s joined the team at Mercedes’s private test track, and he’s going to see if he can match the performance & efficiency of the record-breaking EQXX as he performs a number of laps around their track. You see, the EQXX is no ordinary electric car. It has a world record for driving the furthest distance on a single charge! In July 2022 it was driven from Stuttgart in Germany to Silverstone in the UK – over 1,200km! So with that in mind, Mat had to find out if he could match that performance, so he's going to see just how efficient this one-of-a-kind EV is when he gets behind the wheel. But of course, that’s not all he has in mind – after all, this is a carwow review! So naturally, he’ll be testing its times over the standing quarter-mile! Well in this review, Mat’s going to put these two EVs through their paces, testing everything from their exterior & interior design through to their real-world range and just what they’re like to drive! When it comes to performance, the Kia is easily the more powerful car. The bZ4X’s single and dual motor editions can produce 204hp and 217hp respectively. In comparison, the single motor EV6 puts down 218hp, while the dual motor produces 325hp! The Kia also has a slightly bigger battery pack, 73kWh compared to the Toyota’s 71kWh. As a result, the Kia also has a slightly larger claimed range – 325 miles compared to the Toyota's 317 miles. It's also worth noting the larger range comes with the single motor editions on both cars! So, which would you choose? Would you go for the more powerful EV6? It’s the 6th generation Type R, as well as the 25th anniversary of the very first Type R being released, and it’s time to find out if it’s the best hot Civic yet! So for starters, let’s take a look at the design. If anything this new Type R has been toned down compared to the 5th generation. Gone is the big bonnet scoop, instead replaced by a small vent. Speaking of vents, a number of fake ones found on the previous generation have also been removed, as have the stuck-on wheel arch extensions! All in all, it still looks great, even if it’s a bit less in your face than before. When it comes to performance, you’ll find the same 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo under the bonnet as before. Now, we don’t know the power figures just yet, but we do know that this will be the most powerful Type R yet! As a result, it’ll have more than 320hp, which makes it more powerful than a Golf R, Audi S3, BMW M135i and an AMG A35! On the inside, the new Type R is pretty similar to the standard Civic, although it’s got a number of exclusive upgrades including bright red sports seats, a different steering wheel, and of course, a shiny titanium gear stick! ……………………………………………………. This is the Porsche 911 Sport Classic, and it just might be the best 911 of all time! You see, this is no ordinary 911. It’s limited to 1,250 models, and it includes a whole host of classic features from different 911 series and included them in this car for the modern age. So, what have they done? Starting with the exterior, you’ll find a big stripe up the bonnet to help it stand out from any other 911. It also comes with a double bubble roof, a unique alloy design and some big decals down the side. At the rear, you’ll find some gold Porsche badging, and our personal favourite feature – a ducktail spoiler! That’s right, this is the only new 911 on sale to come with a ducktail! On the inside, the design is largely based on 911 interiors from yesteryear, whether it be the pattern on the seats or the green lights you’ll find in the dials. Although it looks great, it’s worth noting you can get the same features when speccing up your own new 911, so unfortunately it’s not all that exclusive. And finally, let’s look at the performance! At the rear, you’ll find the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo engine as found in the current 911 Turbo S. However, the output has been tuned down to 550hp and 600Nm. This is because the 911 Sport Classic is only available as a manual, and only available with rear-wheel drive! So it all sounds pretty impressive, right? So let’s see how they compare… Starting with the RS3, it’s powered by a 2.5-litre 5 cylinder turbo engine that can put down 340hp and 450Nm. In terms of weight, it tips the scales at 1,575kg. Next up is the M240i. It’s powered by a 3-litre straight-six engine that’s good for 374hp and 500Nm of torque. It’s a bit heavier than the RS3, though, weighing in at 1,790kg! Then finally we have the S3, with a 2-litre 4 cylinder that can produce 310hp and 400Nm. It’s also the lightest car here, at 1,558kg. So what do you think – will the RS3 snatch the win?
