Check out Electric Classic Cars: @Electric Classic Cars Here’s something you don’t see every day! We’ve got a tuned Ford Mustang V8 going up against a BMW 3.0 CSL?! Well, not exactly… You see, what we have here is a BMW 3.0 CSL recreation – effectively a homage to the original Batmobile! But that’s not all, it’s been created by the team at Electric Classic Cars, so you won’t be finding an internal combustion engine under the bonnet! Instead, it rolls up to the start line with an 85kWh battery pack (lifted from a Model S) and it has the ability to produce around 450hp & 400Nm of torque! In comparison, the Mustang has kept hold of its 5-litre V8, although the power output has been increased slightly from 450hp to 490hp. The torque output is still the same, at 530Nm. It’s also slightly heavier than the BMW, tipping the scales at 1740kg (compared to 1,550kg). So how will this play out – will the EV power itself to victory? Or will the tuned V8 just have enough to edge it? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Well, we’re here to find out! Mat’s got his hands on both of these performance pocket rockets and he’s going to run you through everything you need to know to find out which is best! (Ok, it’s the RS3 saloon rather than the hatchback, but it’s basically the same car…) So let’s have a look at the stats. Starting with the Audi, it’s packing a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbo petrol engine under the bonnet, that’s good for 400hp & 500Nm of torque. It’s equipped with all-wheel drive, and Audi claims it can hit 60mph in just 3.8 seconds. As for the AMG, it’s actually down a cylinder, with a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine housed up front. However, it’s worth noting that this is the most powerful 2-litre 4-cylinder engine in the world, so it can put down 421hp and 500Nm – so it’s more powerful than the Audi! It can also hit 60mph slightly quicker, at 3.7 seconds. In terms of styling, it’s fair to say the Audi is definitely a bit more understated than the AMG. Sure it comes with two huge oval exhaust pipes along with some big air intakes up front, but that’s nothing compared to the AMG’s huge wing and quad exhaust tips! In terms of price, they’re both relatively similar, with the Audi starting at £55,000, and the AMG coming in at £59,000. But which should you choose? ……………………………………………………. It’s time for a David vs Goliath off-road battle! Mat’s lining up for the first challenge in the little Suzuki Jimny, and he’s lining up against a huge Hummer H2! Now we’re sure we don’t need to tell you, but the stats on these two cars are vastly different. Starting with the Jimny, it’s housing a 1.5-litre petrol engine under the bonnet that can deliver 101hp & 130Nm of torque. Thankfully, it does come equipped with low-range mode, and it’s also pretty light, weighing in at just 1,100kg. It’ll come as no surprise that the Hummer weighs a whole lot more, tipping the scales at over 3,000kg! But then again, it’s also packing a pretty big engine, with a 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 under the bonnet that’s good for 393hp and 563Nm. Just like the Jimny, it has a low-range mode, but it also comes with a rear-locking differential as well as mud-terrain tyres! So what do you think, will the mighty Hummer take down the Jimny?
