Now, of course, the GLS may be powerful, but you don’t pick a Maybach for performance… You choose it for the incredible interior! And trust us, this GLS doesn’t disappoint. Name an in-car mod-con, and you can guarantee it’s got it. From super-reclinable back seats to a fridge and built-in champagne flutes, the Maybach GLS is built so passengers can travel in pure comfort. Of course, the luxury doesn’t end with the back seats! Although the dash and features up-front may mirror the standard GLS, this version has been elevated, with Maybach badging and leather found throughout… Even the door bins are lined with it! What’s more, you’ll find a load of styling upgrades on the outside too, from the bespoke Maybach grille up front to the chrome rear bumper at the back. Peer under the bonnet and the Maybach can still pack a punch, with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 & a small electric motor combining to produce 558hp & 730Nm of torque. But then again, it needs that power when it weighs in at 2.8 tonnes! So – is it worth the hefty price tag? You’ll have to stick with Mat to find out! Chapters

Now at first glance, you’re probably thinking this is a pointless drag race. But when you consider the two cars here have a £55,000 price difference, we thought it would be interesting to see how much more performance you get for £55k! So how do they compare? Well starting with the 911 Carrera, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo flat-six which can deliver 385hp and 450Nm. It also weighs in at 1,505kg. Then we have the GT3, which houses a 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six under the bonnet which can put down 510hp & 470Nm of torque. It’s also lighter than the Carrera, at 1,435kg. We’ve brought the new Hyundai i20 N, the Ford Fiesta ST & the VW Polo GTI together to find out which is the best hot hatch to pick up for under £30,000! So how do they compare? Starting with the i20 N, it’s powered by a 1.6-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which can deliver 204hp & 275Nm of torque. Next up, we have the Ford Fiesta ST, which is housing a 1.5-litre 3 cylinder turbocharged engine under the bonnet. The power output is slightly down on the i20 N, at 200hp, but it produces more torque, clocking in at 290Nm. And then finally we have the Polo GTI. It rolls up with a 2-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged engine which can put down 200hp & 320Nm. In terms of price, both the Fiesta ST & i20 N will cost you around £25,000 (once you’ve added some essential options to the Fiesta – most come as standard with the i20 N!), whereas the Polo is that bit more expensive, at approximately £27,000. So is the Polo worth the extra money, or are you better off with either the i20 N or the Fiesta ST? You’ll have to stick with Mat to find out! Chapters
