We’ve brought back the awesome Tesla-powered 2010 Land Rover Defender, and this time we’re putting it up against the brand new Defender 90! This new Defender 90 has a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that can produce 250hp & 570Nm. It’s packed with incredible tech designed to make off-reading easier, including surface-studying cameras and terrain response. Will this give it the edge over its all-electric rival? The electric Defender, meanwhile, has been fitted with the motor and inverter from a Tesla Model S. As a result, it can put down 450hp & 450Nm. But thanks to this conversion, it costs a staggering £150,000 – more than three times the starting price of the new Defender 90!!! Not only are these two cars are going to duke it out in four off-road challenges, Mat’s also going to compare their exteriors, their interiors, and launch them both to 60mph. Mat’s in the Audi e-tron GT and it’s facing off against the new Mercedes EQS, the Porsche Taycan 4S, and the Tesla Model S! So, let’s see how they compare. Starting with Mat’s e-tron GT, it’s powered by two electric motors which deliver 523hp and 640Nm of torque. It's pretty heavy though, weighing in at 2,276kg. Next up is the Mercedes EQS. Sadly, we could only get the entry-level single motor version, so it’s just RWD and delivers 329hp and 568Nm. It’s got a HUGE battery though, so it weighs 2,480kg. We then have the Taycan 4S, which is pretty much identical to the e-tron GT. As a result, it puts down 571hp & 650Nm, although it’s slightly lighter, weighing 2,220kg. Then finally we have the Model S. It’s also got two electric motors, and they combine to produce 605hp and 687Nm. It’s heavier than both the Audi and Porsche, however, weighing 2,290kg. So, no prizes for guessing who the underdog is… But which do you think will snatch the win? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
