……………………………………………………. You know what time it is… Epic drag race time!! Mat’s in the Porsche Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid, and he’s lining up against a Nissan GT-R NISMO & an Audi RS6! So how do they compare on paper? Well with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with an electric motor, the Porsche is the most powerful car here, with the ability to put down 700hp & 870Nm of torque! On the far end, the Audi RS6 is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 which can produce 600hp & 800Nm. Then we come to the GT-R NISMO. Technically it’s the least powerful car here, as it can ‘only’ produce 600hp & 650Nm from its 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6. However, it has one key advantage over the Panamera & RS6… It’s a whole lot lighter! Coming in at 1,745kg, it’s almost 600kg lighter than the Porsche! But how about the tuned F80? Well it’s also packing a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, but after being tuned it’ll produce 700hp & 950Nm of torque!! This all-American pick-up has been the best-selling vehicle in the USA for the past 44 years, so let’s face it, it was only a matter of time before an electric version was released. And if we’re being honest, looking at the performance stats, we’re more than happy it’s made the switch to an EV! It’ll come equipped with dual-motors as standard, the extended-range model will be able to produce 571hp. As a comparison, a V8 Ford Mustang can only put down 450hp! That’s not all though… It’ll also make a colossal 1,050Nm of torque – almost double the Mustang’s 529Nm!! So the power stats are great, and it doesn’t look too bad either! Now we know what you're thinking… And yes, you're right, they're all diesels. But wait! Just because they're diesel doesn't mean this won't make for an interesting drag race. Just check out how evenly matched these three competitors are… First up we've got Mat in the GTD. It's powered by a 2-litre turbocharged diesel, which can produce 200hp & 400Nm. As for the Octavia vRS? Well, it's also powered by a 2-litre turbocharged diesel, and just like the GTD, it can put down 200hp & 400Nm! And last up we have the BMW. It's also powered by a 2-litre turbocharged diesel, and while it matches the others on producing 400Nm of torque, it's oh-so slightly down on power, at 190hp. So there's no denying they're pretty evenly matched, especially when you consider they're all FWD, they all weigh around 1,500kg, and they all cost around £32,000!
