We’ve finally got our hands on the all-new Audi RS e-tron GT, and it’s going up against the Porsche Taycan Turbo and the Tesla Model S Performance! So how do they compare on paper? Well first up we’ve got Mat in the Audi – their most powerful road-going car to date, no less! Powered by two electric motors, it can put down 646hp and 830Nm, while it also weighs in at 2,340kg. Alongside him we have Yianni in the Taycan Turbo, which also comes with two electric motors but the ability to put down slightly more power, so it can produce 687hp and 850Nm of torque. In terms of weight, it’s almost identical to the Audi, weighing in at 2,380kg. And then finally we have the Tesla. It may cost a fair bit less than the Audi & Porsche (£70k vs £112k & £116k respectively), but it easily puts down the most power! With (you guessed it) two electric motors, it has the ability to produce 778hp and an epic 1,140Nm of torque! What’s more, it’s also the lightest car here, with a total weight of 2,316kg. It's undergone a mid-life facelift, and Mat's got his hands on one to find out whether this Italian performance SUV still has what it takes to go toe-to-toe with its key competitors! If you're in the market for a Stelvio Quadrifoglio, you'll be happy to hear there's one area that hasn't changed during this facelift – the glorious engine! You'll still find a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 hiding under the bonnet, and it puts down an epic 510hp and 600Nm of torque! But that’s not all! Even with it being an SUV, it can still pelt you to a top speed of 176mph, while also helping you hit 60mph in just 3.8 seconds! All pretty speedy, partly thanks to the relatively light 1830kg weight. So, the performance is still great, but what other updates have they made to the car? Starting with the Mk8, it’s powered by a 2-litre turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol engine, which delivers 320hp & 420Nm. It weighs in at 1,551kg, and costs from around £39,000. As for the Mk7, well it’s also powered by a 2-litre turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol engine, although it only puts down 300hp and 400Nm. It does weigh slightly less though, coming in at 1,483kg. It’s the estate version of the all-electric Taycan, and it’s the first all-electric EV estate in the world (well, if you exclude the MG 5…)! The question is, should you choose it over the regular Taycan? Well if you’re looking for styling changes, there isn’t much to see here! The interior’s almost exactly the same, and when it comes to the exterior, there are only a few minor cosmetic updates to be found to help it looks a bit more 'off-roady', apparently. But then again, if you’re choosing the Cross Turismo, you’re probably most interested in the extra space you’ll get! And to be honest… it’s not loads, with 446 litres available at the rear. That’s only around 40 more than you get in the regular Taycan! So is that a bit less space than you expected? Well thankfully there’s one area where the Taycan Cross Turismo doesn’t disappoint – the performance! There are a handful of options available, but the range-topper is the Turbo S, which delivers 761hp and an epic 1,050Nm of torque! So, how high has Porsche set the EV estate bar? Now you might think that this is a bit of an odd drag race, given both of these cars are effectively just the same but in different bodies, right? Well that’s where you’re wrong! First up we have Mat in the AMG A45. It’s powered by a 2-litre 4 cylinder engine to deliver 421hp and 500Nm of torque. It also weighs in at 1,635kg. Alongside him we have the CLA. However, it’s had £800 worth of Stage 1 upgrades, and as a result its 2-litre 4 cylinder produces 490hp & 660Nm of torque. It also weighs in slightly heavier, at 1,675kg.
