Well you have them go head-to-head against each other, of course! Now on paper, you may think this will be an easy walkover for the Project 8. With a 5-litre supercharged V8 under the bonnet, it'll produce 600hp & 700Nm! In comparison, the AMG A45 S only has a 2-litre turbo under the bonnet, which will produce 'just' 421hp & 500Nm. And how about the weight? Well, to be honest, they're pretty even… The Jag comes in at 1672kg, while the AMG is only slightly lighter at 1630kg. So you're probably thinking 'Mat, what's the point?!' Well, here's the thing… While the A45 costs £56,000, that's only a fraction of the HUGE £180,000 price tag of the Project 8! Now, you might not believe it when you first lay eyes on it, but the Tiguan’s been updated! Sure, it looks pretty damn similar to the old model, but we can assure you there are differences both inside and out. As for under the engine, well there’s a choice of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrids, including a range-topping 2-litre turbo petrol that’ll deliver 320hp… Although you’re going to have to upgrade to the Tiguan R for that! If you're not willing to step up to the R, you could always go for the R Line (like we have in this video), which has a 1.5-litre petrol that can produce 150hp.
