Change your car with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-2410 Cloned cars are a serious issue in the UK. Some reports say there may be as many as 20,000 cloned cars on UK streets, while other reports say the number may be much higher! To get to the bottom of how criminals do this, Mat’s turned to the dark side and is going to attempt to clone a car himself! We’ve picked up a second-hand Mk6 Golf for just £500. It was so cheap because it’s received some damage, so it’s listed as a CAT N write-off, meaning it’s received some non-structural damage which is repairable. Mat's now going to follow in a proper criminal’s steps by attempting to pass this car as another Mk6 Golf (which is in better condition, of course) and try and sell it on for a profit! We’ve enlisted the help of the RAC and Devon & Cornwall Police to see what steps criminals take to clone a car, and we’ll also share some tips on how you can make sure you don’t buy a cloned car yourself. Have you ever been the victim of a cloned car? Let us know in the comments! ……………………………………………………………………………………… Carwow would like to thank the following individuals and organisations for their help with this video: Owen Messenger and the Road Casualty Reduction Team, Devon and Cornwall Police

Change your car with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-2310 It’s time for a Volkswagen hot hatch showdown! We’ve got our hands on the Mk7 Golf GTI Performance, and it’s about to go head-to-head against a Mk4 Golf R32! But will the newer car be able to snatch the win? Let’s take a closer look at the stats. Starting with the R32, it’s powered by a 3.2-litre naturally-aspirated V6 that can produce 241hp and 320Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and the car tips the scales at 1,477kg. When this car was released in the early 2000s, it cost around £22,300. Then we come to the GTI. Under the bonnet there’s a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo that produces 245hp and 370Nm, and this power is directed to the front wheels only through a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The car weighs in at 1,387kg, and when new, it would set you back around £29,800. So the GTI is slightly up on power, but will the R32’s four-wheel drive prove decisive? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!
