We’ve got Mat in the new Volkswagen Golf R, and it’s about to go head-to-head against its key rivals – the BMW M135, the Audi S3, and the Mercedes-AMG A35! But which will come out on top? Let’s see how the four compare. Starting with the new Golf R, it’s powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol that produces 333hp and 420Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and the car weighs in at 1,548kg. As new, the Golf costs around £44,500. The Audi S3 is effectively the same car under the skin, so it packs the same engine as the Golf R and produces the same 333hp and 420Nm. It has the same 7-speed dual-clutch, and it tips the scales at 1,535kg. If you want to buy a new one, it costs around £48,000. The BMW also has a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo, and it puts down 300hp and 400Nm. It also has a 7-speed dual-clutch, and it weighs in at 1,550kg. It’s also the cheapest car here, costing around £44,000. Then finally we have the Mercedes. It has the same size engine as every other car here, and it puts down 306hp and 400Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch, and it weighs 1,495kg. A new AMG A35 costs £46,000. So will the newer Golf R snatch the win? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE! Rather than a reinvention of the much-loved Huracan, it’s an all-new car – new chassis, new bodywork… New everything! However, quite a few fans weren’t happy with the Temerario. For starters, the glorious 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine was removed, and replaced with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 & a hybrid system! Sure the power output increased to 920hp, but the switch from RWD to AWD coupled with the loss of the incredible sound of the V10 was too much for some to handle! However, we have a sneaking suspicion that an all-new, more exclusive version of the Temerario may be in the works! Recently, Lambo’s CTO Rouven Mohr held a press conference where he stated that the Temerario’s 4-litre twin-turbo V8 may have a power output ceiling that is four figures, which is absolutely insane when you consider the output without the electrical system is already 800hp! So surely that means a limited-edition, SVJ-like Temerario must be in the works, right? Well in this video, Mat’s going to run through what this limited-edition Huracan replacement may include, from active aero through to power output… And he’ll even show off an exclusive render of what we think it will look like! The question is, will it be a walkover for the newer Dodge? Let’s take a closer look… Starting with the Viper, it’s powered by an 8-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can deliver 456hp and 664Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 6-speed manual gearbox, and the car weighs in at just 1,595kg. When new in 1998 it cost around £69,000, but as of today it’s valued at around £78,000. Alongside it we have the Challenger RT Scatpack. It’s powered by a 6.4-litre V8 that can produce 492hp and 644Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed auto, and it tips the scales at 1,957kg. As new it costs around $49,000, but if you’re looking to pick one up in the UK, it’ll set you back around £65,000! So the Challenger is newer and more powerful, but will the weight difference prove decisive? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!

It’s the fourth generation of BMW’s most popular SUV, but does the latest iteration offer enough to sway you towards competitor cars like the Mercedes GLC? Let’s take a closer look. In terms of the design, the look of recent BMWs has been pretty divisive, and it’s no different with the new X3! However, we think it looks pretty smart, and the M50 edition we have here has a really imposing look on the road. At the front, there’s a large grille, coupled with an aggressive front bumper which is flanked by a set of real vents. The indentation on the bonnet is also smart and reminds us of the M4. Along the side black roof bars and M Sport side mirrors, while at the back there’s a set of nicely designed tail lights coupled with quad tailpipes. On the inside, the X3 has a pretty minimalist design. There’s a large curved screen that houses the dials and infotainment system, and the seats are also pretty comfortable. However, the infotainment system can be a bit convoluted at times, especially when all functionality is housed within it – you won’t find any physical buttons here! What’s more, while some areas of the cabin are nice to touch, we saw quite a few places covered in scratchy, cheap-feeling plastic. There are a couple of engine choices available. There’s a 2-litre diesel with 197hp and a 2-litre turbo petrol with 208hp. The plug-in hybrid edition uses the same 2-litre turbo petrol engine coupled with an electric motor to create 299hp, while the range-topping M50 is powered by a 3-litre straight-six turbo to create 398hp. In terms of price, the X3 starts at around £48,000, rising up to around £67,000 for the range-topping M50. The thing is, it’s possible to add a load of options – the car we have here costs around £77,000! So is it worth it? Stick with Mat and see for yourself! Chapters
