Three Polestar Design Contest winners collaborated on this supercar, and it’s now a full-scale model that we can prod and poke. Whilst it may or may not enter production any time soon (c'mon, Polestar), it'd be one heck of a rival to the BAC Mono, wouldn't it? Polestar describes the end product as an ‘electric fantasy supercar’ that stands at just over one metre tall and 4.56 metres long. There’s a closed canopy, LED lighting and an excellent ‘hollowed-out’ look that was apparently inspired by a hammerhead shark. How fast could it be? Polestar’s been remarkably coy about making up performance figures, but since it’s described as an electric supercar, we’re going to go with ‘very’. We’ve got our hands on the new BMW M3 Touring, and it’s going head-to-head against the incredible BMW M8! The question is, can the BMW M8 put its power down in some truly awful drag race conditions? Before we find out, let’s check out the stats. We’ve got Mat in the M3 Touring, which is housing a 3-litre twin-turbo straight six under the bonnet that can put down 510hp and 650Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and it’s relatively heavy, weighing in at 1,865kg. If you’re looking to pick one up, the price starts from £87,000. Then alongside it, we have the BMW M8. Lift up the bonnet and you’ll find a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, which is good for 625hp and 750Nm. So it’s up on power compared to the M3, but it’s also well up on weight, tipping the scales at 2,100kg! It’ll also leave a bigger dent in your bank balance, with the price starting from £142,000!
