Why this new Volvo will kill the Tesla Model Y!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULWyrYv_H_Y

This is the Volvo EX30, and it’s an absolute game-changer! Now we know what you’re thinking – it’s just another crossover electric SUV! And yes, it might be, but we think it might have changed the performance SUV game forever! But why, we hear you ask? Well the EX30 may be small, but it can pack a serious punch! When it comes to performance, there are a few options to choose from. You can select a single-motor edition that can produce 272hp, but it’s the dual-motor edition that we’re interested in, which can put down an awesome 428hp and 543Nm of torque! This makes it one of the most powerful Volvos ever produced! These stats make the EX30 more powerful than an Audi RSQ3, an AMG GLA 45, and a Tesla Model Y Performance. But that’s not all – the EX30 is so much cheaper than its competitors, with the dual motor edition costing just £41,000! In comparison, an RSQ3 will cost you around £55,000, and the Model Y Performance will set you back around £60,000! So what do you think? Could this small crossover SUV tempt you to turn to electric? Or would you still choose a petrol-powered German SUV? Let us know in the comments! Chapters

FIRST LOOK: Volvo EX30 – This £34k SUV Is The Fastest Accelerating Volvo Ever | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBiENXMPUDw

This is Volvo’s smallest electric car ever: the new EX30 SUV. It’s also the fastest accelerating Volvo of all time, good for 0-60 in as little as 3.4 seconds. And yet Volvo insists this car also has the lowest lifetime CO2 footprint of any Volvo ever made. Building it creates 18 tonnes of CO2. That, plus its first 200,000km of driving produce ‘less than 30 tonnes’ of greenhouse gas, says Volvo. So it’s a serious car this: full of lots of recycled materials and an attempt to assuage your climate guilt. But it’s also desperate to appeal to younger buyers who are supposedly uninterested in new cars, and with a punchy price of less than £35,000, the Swedes reckon they have a fighting chance. Neil Oatley: Designing World Championships With McLaren | F1 Beyond The Grid Podcast

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X6LOvmxFF0

McLaren’s prestige in Formula 1 is built on legendary success. The team has won eight Constructor titles and produced some of the most distinguished World Champions to grace the sport. That history wouldn’t exist without the genius of people like Neil Oatley. His wisdom and expertise has served F1 for nearly half a decade. Neil first made a name for himself as a race engineer at Williams in the late 1970’s, playing a huge part in the team’s first Grand Prix victory and subsequent World Championships. But it was as McLaren’s chief designer when Neil really certified his status as one of the most influential engineers of all time. From 1989 to 1999, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Mika Hakkinen all won World Championships in cars designed by Oatley. In a fascinating conversation with Tom Clarkson, Neil relives some of the most iconic memories from his extraordinary career. He reveals what it was like to work with some of the greatest drivers and to have a front-row seat for Senna and Prost’s fierce rivalry. Plus, Neil tells Tom how the role of engineer and driver has evolved, how he’s still helping McLaren today, and much more. 04:46 – McLaren today
