We’ve got our hands on a Land Rover Discovery, and it’s going up against a Volkswagen Touareg! Both of these cars have been modded, although the types of mods they’ve had are vastly different. So let’s see what’s changed… Starting with the Discovery, it’s powered by a 3-litre turbo V6 diesel engine which has been tuned slightly, and as a result, it produces 306hp and 600Nm of torque. It comes packed with a load of off-road tech, including low-range driving modes and central locking diffs. However, it’s had a whole load of extras added, from a tent box to the roof coupled with a fridge in the boot! As a result this tips the scales at an amazing 3,400kg! Next up it’s the Touareg. It’s packing a tuned 5-litre V10 diesel under the bonnet which produces an almighty 352hp and 1000Nm! It’s also had a number of mods from a 50mm height lift through to the addition of huge off-road tyres, and it’s a whole lot lighter than the Disco, coming in at 2,500kg.
