The 2022 Four Wheeler Overland Adventure Presented by Jeep began at the town of Goffs just west of Needles, California. Following Registration Day and their first night in the Mojave Desert, participants stacked up in the morning light and prepared to hit the trails. Trails for the day wound through areas used by General Patton to prepare his troops for combat in the African desert. Patton chose this terrain for its unforgiving and inhospitable nature, hoping that if the soldiers could survive here, they'd be ready for the challenges they'd face while taking on Rommel. Camp for the night was outside Twentynine Palms, California. Tents sprang from atop the rigs, awnings blossomed like lilies in the spring, and the sounds and smells of camp cookery were abundant. Road trips don’t get much better than this! Mat and Racing Driver Sam are teaming up for an epic Porsche adventure. They’ve got their hands on a 911 Turbo S & GT3, and they’re setting off from the UK to the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps racing circuit! For starters, they’ll be hitting the channel tunnel before finding out what these unique supercars are like to drive on the motorway on their way to the track. But it’s once they arrive that the fun really begins! The question is, which car will prove the fastest on track? We all know the GT3 is built for moments like this, with its 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six producing 510hp and 470Nm. However, one thing to consider is Spa has some seriously long straights! So with that in mind, will the Turbo S and its 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six with 650hp and 800Nm prove the faster car on the day? There’s only one way to find out – stick with Mat and Sam for this incredible road trip adventure!
