Mat’s in the Hyundai i20N, and he’s lining up against the Ford Fiesta ST and VW Polo GTI! So how do they compare on paper? Well first up we have the i20N, which is powered by a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine to provide 204hp & 275Nm of torque. It also weighs in at 1,190kg. Alongside the Hyundai we have the Fiesta ST. Its smaller 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine puts down 200hp & 290Nm, and it’s a touch heavier than the i20N, with a weight of 1,255kg. Then finally we have the VW Polo GTI. It’s hiding a larger 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine under the bonnet, with a power output of 200hp & 320Nm. It’s also a bit heavier than its competitors, topping the scales at 1,335kg. So, which of these FWD hatchbacks will come out on top?
