Now we all know how popular the GR Yaris is, given that it was crowned carwow Car of the Year 2020! The question is, does it have what it takes to bring down the older Yaris GRMN? Well on paper it certainly looks like it’ll be a walkover. With a 1.6-litre turbo 3 cylinder engine, the GR can put down 261hp and 360Nm, while it also comes with AWD. As for the the Yaris GRMN? Well it’s got a 1.8-litre supercharged 4 cylinder engine, but it can only put down 212hp & 250Nm. Not only that, but it's also only comes with FWD! However, all’s not lost for the GRMN – it weighs in at just 1,135kg, compared to the GR Yaris’s 1,280kg! Will the weight difference be enough to power the older Yaris to victory?
