Change your car with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-2508 This is the all-new Volkswagen Tayron! While the Tayron is an all-new name in the Volkswagen line-up, it’s effectively a new name for the Tiguan Allspace. As a result, it’s no surprise that a lot of this car is inspired on the 5-seater Tiguan. The question is, does it do enough to stand out compared to other 7-seaters like the Skoda Kodiaq and Peugeot 5008? Let’s take a closer look. In terms of the exterior design, it’s no surprise that it looks very similar to the Tiguan – just longer! The trim level we have here is the R-Line, which means there are a couple of sporty elements to the exterior. There’s a satin effect, hexagonal grille at the front, R-Line badging around the side, and there’s a full-length light bar at both the front and back. On the inside, the car is almost identical to the Tiguan, with the same dash design and set-up. The car we have here has the optional extra 15-inch infotainment system, which dominates the dashboard. Unfortunately, though, we don’t think VW’s latest infotainment system is the best. The driver is treated to a large digital dial display, as well as several buttons on the steering wheel to control functions. The car we have here has optional sports bucket seats, which are very comfortable, and there is a lot of storage throughout the cabin. When it comes to engines, the entry-level is a 1.5-litre petrol that produces 150hp. There are two plug-in hybrid options as well, producing 204hp or 272hp. Both of these can drive for up to 72 miles on electric power alone. There’s also a 2-litre diesel that produces 150hp. All of these choices are available as Front Wheel Drive, but if you want an All Wheel Drive Tayron, you’ll need to select the 2-litre turbo petrol, which can produce either 204hp or 265hp. The Tayron starts from £40,130, but you can save around £3,000 if you pick one up through Carwow! But should the Tayron be your next car? Stick with Mat to find out!
