A loose, worn, or age hardened belt is prone to slip, and that can make a chirping squealing noise. Belt pulleys with bad bearings can grind, chirp or squeal. Worst of all, if a stuck frozen seized pulley can't turn, the belt slips over it, making lots of nose, and also heating and wearing out the belt, which will break it sooner than later!
