Well, it’s time to find out as the Tesla Model X Plaid faces off against the almighty Porsche 911 Turbo S! So let’s see how these two competitors compare. Starting with the Tesla, it’s equipped with three electric motors that combine to deliver 1,020hp and 1,420Nm of torque. It’s pretty heavy, mind, tipping the scales at 2,464kg, and a new one will set you back around £127,000. As for the Porsche, well on paper, it’s noticeably down on power, with its 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six able to produce ‘just’ 650hp and 800Nm. However, it’s also massively down on weight compared to the Tesla, weighing in at just 1,650kg! Just like the Tesla it also has four-wheel drive, with the power being sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. However, it’s a fair bit more expensive, coming in at around £180,000. Meet the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser! It’s been 72 years since Toyota released the very first Land Cruiser, and since then there have been over 10 generations of this off-roading legend! The question is, has this new edition been worth the wait? Well based on looks alone, we’d say it definitely has! The new Land Cruiser rolls up with a retro, boxy design that reminds us of a classic Defender, Suzuki Jimny, and Mercedes G-Class. Whether you’re looking at it from the front, side, or rear, the boxy design is clear to see and we absolutely love it! What’s more, Toyota will also be releasing a limited edition First Edition model which ramps up the retro style even more! This will arrive with rounded headlamps, as well as the choice of some limited-edition two-tone paint jobs. While the exterior is keeping things retro, the interior has been notably modernised. It may keep things a bit boxy, but there’s a huge infotainment screen on the dash, a digital drivers display, as well as a large centre console that can even house a fridge. There are a couple of engine choices available, although they won’t be released in all markets. When it comes to petrol, the entry-level will be a 2.7-litre 4-cylinder with 163hp and 246Nm. There will also be a more powerful 2.4-litre turbo petrol with 281hp and 430Nm, however, both of these won’t be available globally. The entry-level diesel is a 2.8-litre turbo diesel with 204hp and 500Nm, which is pretty similar to the engine from the outgoing Land Cruiser. You can also expect a mild hybrid and full hybrid selection to go on sale in the future. We don’t know the price yet, but given the last Land Cruiser cost from at least £40,000, you can expect to be paying a bit more for this new model. But will it be worth it?! Meet the Human Horizons HiPhi Z! It’s an all-new luxury car that’s come straight from China, and it’s absolutely loaded with tech. What’s more, it looks unlike any car we’ve seen before! But is it more style over substance? Well when it comes to the design, this is easily one of the most eye-catching cars we’ve ever driven! The outside of the car is covered in thousands of LED lights, that make it possible to show images & text at either the front, side or rear of the car! It also comes with elements of purple trim which help it to stand out even more, and the front of the car is covered in a number of aggressively-styled vents and aero bits. If anything, it’s giving us some GT-R vibes! Step inside and the luxury vibes are clear to see. There are soft-touch materials throughout, and the seats are super comfortable and come with massage functions. There’s also a massive infotainment screen up front, which is used to control nearly everything in this car. But thankfully, it’s super fast and comes with great graphics. It even adjusts itself to be pointing at the driver depending on the position of your seat! So while the car is packed full of tech, it’s a much simpler story when it comes to the engine. The HiPhi Z comes with just one battery and motor combo – dual electric motors and a 120kWh battery which are good for 672hp and 820Nm along with a range of up to 438 miles. So it’s oh-so eye catching, and so is the price! The HiPhi Z starts from around £90,000. But given it looks so unique, is it clearly worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
