New Audi RS6 v Audi R8: DRAG RACE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vF8ffHAWsC0

We’ve got our hands on the all-new Audi RS6 Performance, and we’re about to find out if it has what it needs to compete with Mat’s new long-term test car, the Audi R8 Spyder! So let’s see how the two compare. Starting with the Audi RS6, it’s powered by the same 4-litre twin-turbo V8 as the regular Audi RS6. However, power has been increased slightly over the regular car, and it now produces 630hp and 850Nm of torque. This power is delivered to all-four wheels via an 8-speed torque converter gearbox, and it weighs in at 2,090kg. If you’re looking to pick up an all-new one, it’ll set you back around £113,000. Then we have the R8. It’s equipped with a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 which can produce 620hp and 580Nm of torque. This power is delivered to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs a fair bit less than the RS6, coming in at 1,695kg. However, while it’s a lot lighter than the RS6, it’s also a lot more expensive, coming in at around £160,000! So the RS6 is slightly more powerful, but surely a practical family estate can’t beat a supercar… Right?! There’s only one way to find out – LET’S RACE! Tesla Model X Plaid review: I find out the REAL 0-60mph!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr1VyN-Dots

We booked this Tesla on Turo. You can book this Model X and thousands more cars here https://bit.ly/44w5kQq. Thanks to Turo for helping us organise this one! Mat’s flown over to the American West Coast, and he’s spending the day in a Tesla Model X Plaid! He’s already tried one out over the 1/4-mile in a drag race, but let’s see what he makes of it for day-to-day living. Starting with the design, it’s pretty much identical to the original Model X. The outside is very simple, with a minimalist look around the front, back and sides. As Tesla has only ever produced electric cars, there’s (thankfully!) no fake grille at the front. However, one design feature we’re not a fan of are the body panels, which at times don’t match up and are noticeable across the car. Step inside, and the minimalist design continues! Apart from a few buttons steering wheel, seats, and on the doors, everything in this car is controlled through the huge infotainment screen on the dash. Thankfully the screen is super easy to use and very fast, but we would prefer a few more physical buttons to make things easier to control when driving. As for the build quality, it’s ok in most places, but some areas leave a little to be desired. As Mat is in the Plaid, it comes with 6 seats – the only option available for this version of the Model X. If you choose a dual-motor, regular Model X, there’s the choice to have it with 5, 6 or 7 seats. When it comes to performance, the regular dual-motor Model X can produce 676hp, while this Plaid comes with 3 motors and can produce an amazing 1,020hp! Both cars come with the same 95kWh battery pack, and while the dual motor is good for up to 348 miles of range, the Plaid’s range drops slightly, to 337 miles. The regular Model X costs from around £102,000, while the Plaid comes in at around £127,000. The question is – is it worth it?! Or should you choose one of the other expensive, high-performance electric SUVs out there? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! Chapters

New BMW M2 v RS3 v AMG A45 S v Boxster GTS: DRAG RACE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLgy18A4HQ8

Thanks to everyone for lending us their cars for this race: – BMW M2: @AUTOIDTV – Audi RS3: https://www.instagram.com/autotorque/ The new BMW M2 is HERE, and we’re putting git up against some of its biggest rivals! The question is, does BMW’s smallest M car have a chance against the likes of AMG, Audi & Porsche? Well, it’s time to find out! Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by Audi’s glorious 2.5-litre 5 cylinder turbo engine that can produce 400hp and 500Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox. It weighs in at 1,570kg, and if you’re looking to pick one up it’ll cost you around £54,000. To its right we have the recently revised Mercedes-AMG A45 S. It’s packing a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo under the bonnet that can put down 421hp and 500Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,550kg. It’s a bit more expensive than the Audi, too, costing around £63,000. On the far side we have the Porsche 718 Boxster GTS. It’s the most expensive car here, coming in at £75,300! What’s more, it’s also the least powerful car here, with the 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six producing 400hp and 430Nm. This power is only sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, however, it’s also the lightest car here, coming in at just 1,435kg. Then finally we have the all-new BMW M2. It’s equipped with a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, and as a result, it’s the most powerful car here, putting down 460hp and 550Nm of torque! Just like the Porsche this power is sent to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and a new one today will cost around 1,720kg. However, it’s by far the heaviest car here, tipping the scales at 1,720kg! So how will this one play out – will the weight difference prove decisive? Or will the M2’s extra power push it to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE! Mat’s deal on one of these cars: https://bit.ly/Mats-Choice-08-07 Sell your car with carwow: https://bit.ly/Buy-Sell-WOW

New Toyota Prius review: Cooler than a LAMBO?!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85qJ6j3ONUk

We’ve got our hands on the all-new Toyota Prius! Now we know in recent years the Prius has had the tag of being a bit of a lame car. However, we think the new Prius is absolutely gorgeous, and may now be considered as one of Toyota’s coolest cars! But what’s so great about it? Well, let’s take a closer look. Starting with the design, we are getting some serious Lamborghini vibes from the back! With the swooping headline and the glass area around the taillights, we are getting some serious sports car vibes! Along the side you have smart integrated door handles for the back seats, and then up at the front you’ve got the daytime running lights and headlights combined into a cool design. All-in-all, this looks totally different to any Prius we’ve seen before… And that’s a good thing! Step inside, and the cool design themes continue! There’s a small digital dial screen for the driver and a large infotainment screen in the centre of the dashboard. Thankfully it also comes with a number of physical buttons, so climate control can also be managed through these rather than through the screen. You’ll also find a good bit of storage throughout the cabin, although we also encountered some scratchy plastics. But then again, what would you expect when the car cost from just over $27,000. When it comes to performance, there’s only one engine choice available. It’s a 2-litre naturally-aspirated 4 cylinder, coupled with an electric motor. In the entry-level car this drivers the front-wheels only and provides 197hp. It is possible to get an all-wheel drive edition, but the horsepower is almost identical, increasing to just 199hp! There’s also a plug-in hybrid variant available, which can produce 223hp while also driving for up to 40 miles on electric power alone. Sadly though, even though the new Prius looks great, it won’t be coming to the UK. But the question is, do you agree with Mat – has Toyota finally made the Prius cool?! Let us know in the comments!
