Save up to £3750 on an EV with the Electric Car Grant: https://bit.ly/Electric-Car-Grant-2025 This is the all-new BYD Dolphin Surf! It’s the second cheapest electric car you can buy in the UK, with the Dacia Spring still holding the crown for the cheapest electric car on sale. The question is, with a starting price of just £18,650, should you choose the BYD over its nearest & dearest rivals? Let’s take a closer look. In terms of the exterior design, it’s certainly a bit of an eye-catcher, especially in this luminous yellow paint! There’s quite a bit of black cladding to be found across the car to help break up the colours, although the front end still has an overall strange design. Along the side, you’ll find flush door handles to help with aerodynamics, while at the back, there’s a relatively large boot lid spoiler as well as a full-length light bar – not bad for a car at such a low price point! On the inside, the BYD Dolphin Surf comes with a number of qualities you would expect from a car at such a low price point. Bar a couple of areas on the doors and the dash, there are scratchy plastics throughout. Thankfully, the steering wheel is of a good size and comes with several functionality buttons. There is also a digital dial and infotainment screens, but the dials are relatively small and include a very small speedometer, while the infotainment system can be a bit laggy. There are a couple of physical buttons, but there are more rocker-style buttons rather than clickable ones. There are two battery options available for the Dolphin Surf – a 30kW with 137 miles of range, or a 43kW with up to 200 miles of range. There are three trim levels and two motor options available: the entry-level 88hp, or a 156hp one. So does the Dolphin Surf sound appealing to you? Or would you rather splash out on something a bit pricier? Let us know in the comments! I EXPOSE WHY HYBRIDS ARE POINTLESS!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVuYFSg4FOA

Change your car with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-3008 Are plug-in hybrids a waste of time? Or do they offer the best of both worlds? Well, to find out, we’ve got our hands on every version of the new BMW 5 Series – the petrol, the electric & the plug-in hybrid – to put them to the test! The question is, will the plug-in hybrid offer the best efficiency value to the average consumer? On paper, hybrids sound almost too good to be true! Not only are they cheaper than equivalent electric cars, but they also come with massive tax breaks, and should be better for the environment than the petrol-powered equivalent. They also have absolutely HUGE efficiency numbers, but have they just been inflated by the manufacturers? Well, Mat’s putting the three cars through a 60-mile test to find out for himself. But let’s take a closer look at the cars we have here. The hybrid car we have here is the 530e M Sport. It has a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine and a 19.4kWh battery pack. On electric power alone, it has a claimed range of between 59 – 64 miles of range, and it has a recommended retail price of £59,655. Next up, it’s the petrol-powered 520i M Sport. It has the same engine as the 530e, a 2-litre 4 cylinder, producing 208hp and 330Nm. It has a recommended retail price of £52,285. Then, finally, it’s the i5 eDrive 40 M Sport. It’s equipped with two electric motors, an 81.2kWh battery, and has a claimed range of up to 374 miles on a full charge. Its recommended retail price is £74,205. So will the plug-in hybrid come out on top? Or in the real world, will the electric or petrol prove to be a better buy? You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehfWoryD1-A

Get 20% off Car Vertical using code Carwow: https://bit.ly/Carwow-Car-Vertical We’ve got our hands on the all-new BMW M2, and it’s about to go up against its closest rivals! Alongside it, we have the Golf R, AMG A45 S, RS3 and Cayman GT4 RS! But which will cross the line first? Let’s check out the stats. Starting with the BMW, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight six, and this produces 480hp and 600Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed torque converter gearbox, and it’s the heaviest car here at 1,730kg. It costs around £69,000. Next up is the Golf R. It’s packing a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo, and it puts down 333hp and 420Nm. It has all-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual clutch, and it tips the scales at 1,548kg. As new, it costs £46,000. Next is the AMG A45 S. It has the same size engine as the Golf R, and it creates 421hp and 500Nm. It has an 8-speed automatic gearbox as well as all-wheel drive, and it weighs 1,680kg. You can pick one up new for around £65,000. The fourth car is the Audi RS3 Saloon. With a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbo under the bonnet, it creates 400hp and 500Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed auto, and it weighs 1,640kg. A brand new one costs around £62,500. Then, finally, we have the Cayman GT4 RS. It’s packing a 4-litre NA flat-six, and it creates 500hp and 450Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed auto gearbox, and it’s the lightest car here, at 1,415kg. It comes with a hefty price tag, though, costing around £125,500! So will the Porsche walk it? Or could the all-new M2 snatch the win? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE! Is this £50k Rolls-Royce the ultimate luxury car?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT8a-Pz4IGY

Change your car with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-28-07 Which offers the best value for money – a £50,000 top-of-the-range Skoda Superb, or a £50,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom from 2007? Well, we’ve got our hands on both, and Mat’s about to put them through a series of tests to see which offers the best value for money. When it comes to the design, the Rolls-Royce just oozes luxury, even if it is 18 years old. The large grille up front is made of real metal, and the size of the bonnet just gives it great presence on the road. Granted, it may only have xenon headlights, but what do you expect on an old car like this? As for the design of the Skoda, it’s not a bad-looking car, but it just doesn’t have the presence or elegance of the Rolls. If anything, with it being in black like we have here, it seemingly just flies under the radar. On the inside, the Skoda is a nice car to sit in, especially in this Laurin & Klement edition. It has the latest Skoda tech, good build quality, and this L&K edition has a bespoke steering wheel, special seats, and wood on the dashboard! But this quality is nothing compared to the quality of the Rolls. There is leather absolutely everywhere, loads of room in the front and the back, and any switch or button just feels expensive. There are several special touches inside too, such as screens for the rear passengers, and a built-in mobile phone – even if it is an old Nokia! The Skoda is powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel that produces 190hp and 400Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed auto gearbox. As for the Rolls, it’s powered by a massive 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 that creates 460hp and 720Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed auto. So, is the all-new Skoda a better purchase than the Rolls? Or should you choose this 18-year-old luxurious cruiser instead? Stick with Mat to see for yourself! Huge thanks to A. W. Lymn for the Rolls-Royce Phantom.
