The Greatest Performance Cars of 2023: DRIVEN! | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8os-jMP0HY

15 contenders, seven wind turbines, five barrels of biofuel, many sets of tyres… it’s time for TG Magazine's annual festival of fast! Speed Week is the highlight of Top Gear Magazine’s year. This year getting 15 cars (wonderfully juicy things including the Lamborghini Sterrato, Porsche GT3 RS, Honda Civic Type R, BMW M2, Hyundai Ioniq 5N, McLaren Artura, Formula E car and many, many more) and 16 journalists, photographers and videographers to an island off the east coast of Sweden, finding somewhere to sleep, things to eat and producing a library’s worth of the world’s greatest car content over the course of a few days was a logistical cluster bomb. But we did it. And with a nod to our carbon footprint. It won’t have escaped your attention that wildfires are raging, dams are bursting and even the UK has been melting in near 40°C heat. Fixing these problems, or at least stemming the tide of climate change, is the responsibility of all of us, which is how the plan to try to decarbonise Speed Week came about. The idea wasn’t to carry on as normal and then pay a third party to plant some trees on our behalf but to look at our own actions and reduce our carbon footprint where possible. So we went to a sustainable race track, used the latest in trucking tech to get cars there, fuelled them with biofuel, used EVs as support cars, charged them with the wind, stayed communally and ate locally. Turns out it’s not an exact science, and we had to travel to Sweden to find the perfect venue, but we hope we’ve proved it’s possible to still enjoy the cars we love, while treading a little lighter on our planet. Now watch some cars do some skids. #TGSpeedWeek2023 Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

Join us as Top Gear takes you behind the curtain at The Supercars Owners Circle – an exclusive fraternity of discerning car collectors that, refreshingly, don’t mind getting their ultra-exclusive cars out of their temperature controlled humidor garages and take them for a good old thrashing. And we're not talking any cars, we’re talking the crème de la crème of the Car World. There’s literally a slice of everything. From the modern hypersphere, to poster cars, golden oldies and icons. To even be considered for entry into this ultra-exclusive group you need more than £5million worth of cars. Which we don’t have. FIRST DRIVE: 612bhp Ferrari Roma Spider | Top Gear REVIEW

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0mhY7S6Evs

Is Ferrari’s Roma Spider the most attractive two-seat compact supercar on sale today? Well, that’s for you to decide. But here are the facts. While the bulk of the Roma’s slender lines remain as per the coupe, the rear has most obviously been reworked to incorporate the new folding roof. Comprised of special weaves and five layers, it’s the first time fabric has been deployed as a roofing material on a front-engined Ferrari since the 365 GTS4 back in 1969. This Spider is exactly 84kg heavier than the Roma Coupe, thanks in part – says Ferrari – to the new and very clever wind deflector, which when deployed rotates the backrest of the rear seats (sans passengers, of course) into position behind the front two’s heads. This itself is as much a comfort solution – less turbulence – as it is an aerodynamic one. Ferrari also worked on the rear spoiler’s geometry and added a 5mm nolder on the windscreen header rail along with the new deflector, itself deployable by a small button on the centre console. The addition of which is the only interior change over the coupe. There’s the Roma’s familiar wraparound ‘dual-cockpit’ concept enforced by that high central console, itself containing a neat nod back to Ferrari’s open-gate-gearbox roots, and the 8.4in floating display. The driver gets their own digital display of course, reflecting the V8’s current state. And with 612bhp on offer, there will be many states. Mostly excitable. The 3.9-litre V8 turbo comes in unchanged from the Roma Coupe, along with the same eight-speed dual clutch gearbox, a new exhaust tune for better noise, and the ability to run 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds. Flat out, it’s just shy of 200mph. But what’s it like to drive? We sent Top Gear Magazine’s Jason Barlow out to Italy to experience la dolce vita and find out. FIRST DRIVE: Porsche 911 S/T – 518bhp GT3 RS Engine + Manual = Ultimate 911 | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDpABJHzxT0

The Porsche 911 turns 60 years old in 2023 and you didn’t expect Stuttgart to mark the occasion with a couple of book vouchers and a caterpillar cake, did you? The 911 S/T is the company’s birthday present to itself – the purest, lightest, rawest, most special version of the 992-gen car yet. Basically, what we’ve got here is a 911 GT3 RS engine in a GT3 Touring body. And then Porsche set about chopping a massive 40kg out of the GT3, with carbon panels, magnesium wheels, a lighter clutch and even junking the rear-wheel steering. It’s all been in an effort to make the 911 more of a purist’s delight – something that dispenses with tech and pays homage to where the world’s most enduring sports car came from six decades ago. Poor old Ollie Kew had to go all the way to southern Italy to meet it – and learn to drive a 911 that’s got a snatchier clutch, short-throw gearbox, and idles like it’s full of gravel. Madness, or genius? Check out the video and find a full written review on TopGear.com. Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:
