Change your car with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-1408 The Land Cruiser is one of the most well-known 7-seat SUVs in the world! Since it was first released, over 10 million units have been sold in 170 countries! The question is, if you want to pick one up today, is it worth spending £100,000 for an imported Land Cruiser 300? Or should you browse the second-hand market for something cheaper? Well, that’s exactly what we’ve done! We’ve picked up a Land Cruiser 100 for just £5,000, and we’re going to compare it to the all-new 300 to see which offers the best value for money! So let’s take a closer look at the two.
When it comes to the old Land Cruiser, it shows a good few signs of wear and tear on the outside. There are loads of dents, scruffs, stone chips & scratches – but that’s no surprise given the car has run for over 280,000 miles!! Also, upon closer inspection of the car, there are several signs of rust and decay, which could spell trouble down the line. On the inside, the signs of wear and tear continue! The majority of the cabin needs a good, deep clean, and the material on the steering wheel seems to be coming apart! Thankfully, though, the age of the car means there are loads of physical buttons to help manage the climate control, while the majority of the electrics seem to still work as well. As for the new Land Cruiser, well, it instantly looks vastly different to the old car. Up top, there’s a huge plastic grille, along with some indentations across the bonnet to give the car a bit more purpose. There are modern headlights that are much brighter than the old car, while around the back, the boot is absolutely huge! The only thing is, the wheels on this car seem more like they’re designed for cruising, rather than off-roading. Given that this car is brand new, it’s no surprise that the interior is in excellent condition. Unlike the old car, it has a digital infotainment screen, but thankfully, Toyota has resisted the urge to do away with physical buttons, so the climate control and other functions can be managed with ease! In terms of space and comfort, it’s all still relatively similar to the old car – thankfully, though, it’s much cleaner! The old Land Cruiser was powered by a 4.7-litre V8 that produced 235hp and 434Nm. Unfortunately, the newer car has done away with the V8, replacing it with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that produces 409hp and 650 Nm. Toyota is well-known for building reliable cars – but will the old-school Land Cruiser 100 prove to be a good buy? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! Thanks to Proctor Cars for lending us the Land Cruiser 300:
