NEW McMurtry Spéirling Pure – World’s Fastest Car! | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx7KN-Zu_7o

Looks like a miniature Batmobile, sounds like a TIE fighter from Star Wars, goes like the absolute clappers. The McMurtry Spéirling – last seen kicking up dust and shredding hillclimb records at the Goodwood Festival of Speed – has been tinkered with and is now available to buy for a cool £984k. The new Spéirling Pure comes with all the goodies Max Chilton deployed at Goodwood. That means a twin-electric-motor setup powered by a 60kWh battery system detonating 745kW of electrons (or a nice, round 1,000bhp) on the rear axle. Together with a “patented downforce on demand system” and a scarcely believable kerbweight of under 1,000kg, this thing is capable of serious numbers. Not just 190mph flat out, but also the fact it’ll pull 3G through the corners and be able to lap Silverstone 10 times at proper flat-out pace, then recharge in 20 minutes to do it all over again. Top Gear Magazine’s Jack Rix reveals all the details and catches up with Ex-F1 and McMurtry Development Driver Max Chilton on his insane Goodwood Hillclimb record run. Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato Vs Porsche 911 Dakar | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw7NlbVg4oI

Both the Porsche 911 Dakar and Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato have been specially modified for off-road use, with off-road tires, suspension lifts, and protective underbellies. They are, literally, awesome. Obviously, it’s not without a certain amount of trepidation – the Porsche costs £173k without options, the Lamborghini just under £233k – so even the inevitable stone chips are expensive. But who cares when both cars redefine the concept of real-world supercars, delivering a level of enjoyment that is different from their high-performance counterparts. The question is, which one is more fun? Top Gear Magazine’s Tom Ford has the worst job of finding out. #TGSpeedWeek2023 Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST DRIVE: Ariel Atom 4R – 400bhp, MIND-BENDING Performance | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE27LhM8G2c

This is the new Atom 4R and you’re right, it features wings and carbon. And the small matter of a 25 per cent power boost, which, yes, can deliver a particularly gusty haymaker. As standard it hits 60mph in under 2.7 seconds, 100mph in less than 6.5s and should go on to a 170mph max. Rapid enough. It costs £77,940, a substantial hike over the regular car which starts at – well, it doesn’t matter particularly, because Ariel’s waiting list is so long that the cars don’t lose any money. But it’s best to think of this one as a 4R+. It’s had everything thrown at it, from carbon wheels and brakes (saving 26kg), plus carbon panels and wings, to Ohlins exotic four-way adjustable dampers and a Quaife six-speed sequential gearbox with pneumatic activation. So, this one costs about £140,000 as tested. Overall? It’s a bonkers loon of a device that never takes itself too seriously. It just wants to have fun, as Top gear Magazine’s Ollie Marriage finds out when he gets behind the wheel. Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST DRIVE: Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, 641bhp Hyper-Hatch! | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N81QvAJRkI

This is the Hyundai N division’s take on the ridiculously good-looking Ioniq 5. A hatchback-shaped, medium crossover-sized, four-wheel drive EV, likely to cost between £65k and £70k and based on the same bits as the Kia EV6… with 600bhp. In fact, hit the embarrassingly named N Grin Boost mode button on the steering wheel and you have 641bhp for 10 second bursts. But for once, it’s not all about the power – Hyundai has thrown the kitchen sink at the electronics in the 5 N. You can customise engine sounds to mimic a combustion engine, a fighter jet, or even a lightsaber. The N e-Shift mode simulates an eight-speed paddleshift gearbox, creating a more natural and engaging driving feel. There’s an N Drift Optimiser mode that sends all the torque to the rear axle and retains only the lightest electronic touch to allow big angles but limit excursions into the gravel. There's even torque kick drift, a fake clutch kick function that cuts power when you hold both paddles on the throttle, then dumps it all on the rear tyres when you release them to fling you sideways at the precise moment you choose. The question is, are these all just gimmicks, or do they make the 5 N more engaging to drive? To find out, Top Gear Magazine’s Jack Rix puts Hyundai’s hyper-hatch to the test.
