America’s Fastest Family? Meet The Roushes, Fast Ford and NASCAR Royalty

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gTBKnqGNmw

On the edge of Detroit, USA, is a rather special family and their rather special car collection. But the vehicles (mostly Fords, but not all) in the Roush Automotive Collection aren’t just any old cars collected by Jack Roush and his family. Rather, they’re race cars that his ultra-successful NASCAR team has taken to ‘Victory Lane’ and road cars that his eponymous tuning company has built. Add in a smattering of cars the family has restored or competed in, and you’ve got an amazing array of fast metal. Top Gear Magazine’s Deputy Editor, Ollie Kew, took a tour, with the welcoming Roush family… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST LOOK: MG Cyberster Coupe – Porsche Cayman… Or This?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64gb5fQa41A

This is the MG Cyber GTS Concept, a glimpse at what an MG Cyberster with a hard-top roof might look like. Now, you might scoff at our headline, but Porsche will cease production of the combustion-engined Cayman in the middle of 2025 and the replacement will be electric. Moreover, MG has already stolen a march on Porsche by getting the electric Cyberster roadster into production well ahead of any Boxster BEV. That might be again true with the Cyber GTS: we’ve yet to see any Cayman BEV prototypes testing, but this MG concept has parking sensors and wipers, clues that this is essentially a production car in waiting. Over to Top Gear Magazine’s Tom Ford for the lowdown… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST LOOK: McLaren P1 Drift Car – Mad Mike’s Rotary-Swapped ‘MadMac’!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgIhcSDq2hk

This is the world’s most insane drift car. A mutated McLaren, it’s the brainchild of ‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett, with a little help from McLaren experts Lanzante and luxury car specialists O’Gara Coach. Now, a McLaren P1 drift car would have been silly enough, but ‘MadMac’ (as it’s affectionately known) fuses a P1 body with a 650S GT3 carbon chassis for the added protection of the latter’s roll cage. Oh, and then whatever McLaren V8 you were expecting has been ditched for a turbocharged, triple-rotor set-up. Peak power is close to four figures… Myriad other changes have been made to get it drift ready, so here’s ‘Mad Mike’ himself, plus Lanzante boss Dean Lanzante, together with Top Gear’s Ollie Kew, to give you the full lowdown… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

Red Bull Has Built A Hypercar…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLIEeDL2J6M

This is the Red Bull RB17 – and it’s much more than F1 design genius Adrian Newey’s greatest hits amalgamated into a hypercar. Sure, this £5m, track-only spaceship has the likes of a blown diffuser and Newey’s favourite Formula 1 engine configuration (a naturally aspirated V10) but the RB17 is instead what happens when Newey isn’t trying to find loopholes in restrictive Formula 1 regulations. The RB17 is what happens when Newey is unleashed! The result, the mind-blowing result, is a car (very rich) mere mortals can buy – and one that can lap a racetrack as fast as a contemporary Formula 1 car. Behind Newey is the might of Red Bull Applied Technologies, the sister company to Red Bull Racing that uses the F1 team’s know-how and applies it to wider engineering challenges. As a calling card to show their expertise, the RB17 is quite something. But enough of us telling you about it. Instead, here’s the man himself, interviewed by Top Gear’s Editor-at-Large, Jason Barlow… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST LOOK: Ford’s Capri Is Back! Only It’s Not A Capri. Or A Ford…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI9_3Z8Fm5o

Here’s a blast from the past, a nameplate we thought we’d never see back in production – the Capri! Only this Ford Capri isn’t how your dad might remember it. Because before, from the late 1960s through to the mid ‘80s, the Capri was a coupe, sort of Europe’s Ford Mustang. And now? Well, it’s an SUV crossover. An electric one at that. And it’s not even really a Ford. Let Top Gear Magazine’s Associate Editor, Tom Ford, explain… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:
