Ford’s Capri Is back! But Not How Your Dad Might Remember It…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI9_3Z8Fm5o

Here’s a blast from the past, a nameplate we thought we’d never see back in production – the Capri! Only this Ford Capri isn’t how your dad might remember it. Because before, from the late 1960s through to the mid ‘80s, the Capri was a coupe, sort of Europe’s Ford Mustang. And now? Well, it’s an SUV crossover. An electric one at that. And it’s not even really a Ford. Let Top Gear Magazine’s Associate Editor, Tom Ford, explain… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST LOOK: Ariel Nomad 2 – All-New Off-Road Flyweight!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm5KO3Ji_IE

Top Gear’s favourite little scamp for charging about off-road and getting all muddy is back! And, while the Ariel Nomad 2 might not look all that different from the collection of scaffolding poles and raised suspension that was its predecessor, only the steering wheel, fuel cap and pedal box are shared with the original Nomad. That’s right, even the engine has changed, no longer one of Ariel’s go-to Honda motors. Instead, it’s the 2.3-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine from the Ford Focus ST. Which means not only more power, but more torque. A LOT MORE. Sounds like our kind of car. Over to Top Gear Magazine’s Head of Car Testing, Ollie Marriage, to find out more… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST DRIVE: Koenigsegg Chimera – 1600bhp, Manual, Agera RS/Jesko/CC850 Mash-Up!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIxeCotA0-0

Christian von Koenigsegg is a glutton for engineering punishment. His Swedish hypercar company currently builds the Jesko (which has just set the 0-400km/h-0 record) and it’ll soon start delivering the new CC850 and Gemera to customers. That’s three distinct models, each with their own head-scratchingly complex innovations. And yet, amongst all this, he said “yes” to a request from a customer who wanted their older-model Agera RS melded with the best bits of a Jesko and CC850 to create an absolute one-off. Many engineering headaches later we have this, the Chimera, which blends an Agera RS with the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine from a Jesko and the fiendishly complex manual-cum-automatic gearbox from the CC850. Over to Top Gear Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Jack Rix, who’s been to Sweden to drive this unique Koenigsegg… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

Manual Gearboxes Are Back! Aston Martin Valour vs Porsche 911 S/T

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEO6mVqo8K8

EVs and ever-stricter emissions regulations mean the manual gearbox is becoming rarer – and yet there is also a bit of a renaissance occurring. The £2.8m GMA T.50 is only available with a manual gearbox, the £2.2m Pagani Utopia can be had with two or three pedals (with most owners opting for the latter) and at the other end of the scale, Toyota is testing a manual gearbox for electric vehicles. In-between (though still very much at the expensive end of the scale) we have these two: the £1m Aston Martin Valour and the £231k Porsche 911 S/T. The Valour pairs a manual gearbox with Aston’s twin-turbo 5.2-litre V12 for the first time, and those mechanicals are clothed in retro-inspired carbonfibre bodywork. Just 110 will be made, at £1m-plus each. As for the Porsche, you can look at it either as a 911 GT3 RS with a manual gearbox and without that wing, or as a GT3 Touring with the wick turned up. Either way, it marries an epic engine that revs to 9,000rpm, with a manual ‘box and lightweight clutch. There’s still life in the ol’ stick shift then! And so, we sent the Aston and Porsche to some rather nice roads, together with Editor-in-Chief Jack Rix and Deputy Editor Ollie Kew, for a little celebration… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear Chapters:

FIRST DRIVE: Polestar 4 – No Back Window, But Why?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4Qgo_fgdGI

What’s even more odd than Polestar’s naming convention, which orders its cars not by class, but when they go on sale? Why, it’s to give the new Polestar 4 (which sits in price and size between the Polestar 2 and 3 – go figure) no rear window whatsoever. It’s rather anti-dog, but that feature – together with a silhouette that’s more raised saloon than lowered SUV – does help the Polestar 4 stand out against electric rivals. But is it enough to challenge the likes of Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche? Top Gear Magazine’s Associate Editor, Tom Ford, has been to find out… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:
