Aston Martin DB12: New V8 Super Tourer | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzsRn4CIFQw

The DB12 is Aston Martin’s new ‘Super Tourer’. The V12 is dead. Emissions finally caught up with it. But it’s not a hybrid nor does it have any form of electric assistance. Instead, the DB12 uses the Mercedes-sourced 4.0-litre twin turbo V8. For real transformation, step inside. Almost all traces of Mercedes switchgear have been eradicated as Aston has taken the infotainment in-house. Hopefully that’ll be a good thing. Most importantly, it looks like it means business. The bodywork has been skilfully enhanced. It leans towards the brutish muscularity of the DBS, but modernises those lines with more defined creases. The way the wheels pack the arches, the enlarged intakes, the curvature of the bonnet and broad haunches – it’s a sharp piece of design. It looks and feels a more serious driving tool. And that should hopefully allow it to plug the gaping hole between the wonderfully weighty Bentley Conti GT and the hyperactively flighty Ferrari Roma. Top Gear Magazine’s Ollie Marriage gives us all the details. Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

Porsche Mission X: Hands-On With The 918 Spyder’s Hypercar Successor | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8BrVdI8qQU

This is the Mission X, and Porsche claims it’s intended to be the fastest road legal car around the Nurburgring. It’s an all-electric hypercar. Afraid so people. There’s no word on exact power, or driven wheels, but the claim is a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio and given Porsche’s involvement with Rimac, it’s safe to assume there’s a hint of Nevera in there somewhere. Porsche hasn’t admitted it’s going into production, so there’s no price or build numbers are yet. But you don’t give yourself a whopping present like this and then bury it in a dusty warehouse for eternity. It’s a track-focused electric hypercar, likely to set benchmarks by which all others will be judged. Mission X: is this the hypercar to take us beyond the petrol era? Top Gear Magazine's Editor in Chief, Jack Rix, takes a closer look. 00:00 Introduction

Aston Martin’s Final V12? – £315k DBS 770 Ultimate | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IfMIQCmDjI

Welcome to the last of the old guard. You’ve now seen the new DB12, with its delectable-looking interior and strictly eight cylinders under the bonnet. That’s where Aston Martin is going. The £315,000 DBS 770 Ultimate is where it’s been. On the face of it, a DBS with more power, Valkyrie-esque wheels and a big nostril in the carbon clamshell bonnet isn’t big news. But when you delve deep into the Ultimate, you discover the tweaks Aston has made to the steering and handling have turned this big bad old warhorse into the finest V12 GT the company has produced. Ever. Top Gear magazine’s Ollie Kew has selflessly impaled himself on the Ultimate’s brutal carbon fibre seat bolsters to explain why. If this is the V12’s swan-song, what a way to go… Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: http://bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear WATCH MORE TOP GEAR:

FIRST LOOK: Volvo EX30 – This £34k Compact SUV Is The Fastest Accelerating Volvo Ever | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBiENXMPUDw

This is Volvo’s smallest electric car ever: the new EX30 SUV. It’s also the fastest accelerating Volvo of all time, good for 0-60 in as little as 3.4 seconds. And yet Volvo insists this car also has the lowest lifetime CO2 footprint of any Volvo ever made. Building it creates 18 tonnes of CO2. That, plus its first 200,000km of driving produce ‘less than 30 tonnes’ of greenhouse gas, says Volvo. So it’s a serious car this: full of lots of recycled materials and an attempt to assuage your climate guilt. But it’s also desperate to appeal to younger buyers who are supposedly uninterested in new cars, and with a punchy price of less than £35,000, the Swedes reckon they have a fighting chance. Bugatti Chiron Super Sport vs Space Shuttle – Which Is Faster Down A Runway? | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wvZe0hVaXo

When NASA decided it wanted space rockets to be reusable, it had to build somewhere to land them. That place was the Shuttle Landing Facility at Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, and what it built was a 15,000ft-long strip where Space Shuttles would hurtle back to Earth at over 200mph. These days, the Shuttle is retired and its runway is a proving ground for testing some of the world’s fastest cars. The 1,578bhp Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is certainly that, but it’s also often derided as a folly – an impractical machine which, like the Space Shuttle, cost too much money to develop. But is that fair? We didn’t think so. So, join Top Gear magazine’s Ollie Kew for a geeky dive into what makes this runway so special, and then a high-speed adventure to see if a hypercar can hit a higher top speed than the Shuttle, at the very place it touched down from space. Bugatti was performing Straight Line Aerodynamic Testing with JBPG at Space Florida’s Launch and Landing Facility, located in Kennedy Space Center, Florida. 00:00 Intro
