Driving The Radford Type 62-2 With Jenson Button | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2iIWrpbdN4

Radford’s Type 62-2 reimagines a particular variant of the 1960s Lotus Europa, the Type 62. It’s based on the Exige chassis and has a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 in the back producing up to 605bhp. That’s mated to a genuinely wonderful manual gearbox, although you can have a twin clutch if you want. It’s good for 0-62pm in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 186mph. But you’ll want to approach the Radford with caution. Because it has no driver aids. At all. Final pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but you can expect to pay around £500,000 for the version seen here. Forming part of the Radford team are former F1 champ Jenson Button and TV presenter Ant Anstead, mastermind behind the Type 62-2. Top Gear Magazine’s Head of Car Testing, Ollie Marriage, heads to Radford HQ to catch up with them and get behind the wheel on road and track. FIRST DRIVE: Renault R5 Turbo 3E – 375hp Electric Hot Hatch | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrh8RvdkPeQ

It’s called the R5 Turbo 3E, and it’s a two-seat tribute to the Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 of yesteryears. And unlike most concept cars that’ll turn heads and nothing else, this might just turn your stomach too because it’s designed for DRIFTING. Don’t be fooled by the all-electric powertrain: it’s rear-wheel drive courtesy of a motor on each of the back wheels, delivering a playful 375hp and 516lb ft. Renault reckons on 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 124mph, but stops short of predicting what range you’ll get from the 42kWh battery. Presumably, because you can’t get a WLTP rating when sideways… At 1.5 tonnes (520kg of that is battery cells) it’s a good deal heavier than the cars that inspired it, but a tubular chassis, protected flat base and FIA-approved roll cage should provide plenty of stiffness when engaging that impossible-to-miss handbrake. Which Top Gear Magazine’s Ollie Marriage wasn’t allowed to touch. But that doesn’t mean we didn’t drift it. FIRST LOOK: Gordon Murray Automotive T.33 Spider | Top Gear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mexed_19_WA

Think ‘convertibles’ and Gordon Murray is hardly going to be the first name that pops into your head. Convertibles tend to be heavier, less rigid and worse off aerodynamically than a hard-top car. And if you know anything about the sorts of cars that Gordon Murray designs, those aren’t just trifling niggles. And yet, here it is. The first Gordon Murray Automotive roadster: the new T.33 Spider. Anyone for a 608bhp Cosworth V12 and no pesky ceiling muffling the 11,100rpm engine note?
The T.33 Spider is of course the second T.33 model announced after the hard-top coupe back in 2021, so lots of the stats and facts are familiar. The bespoke naturally aspirated 3.9-litre drives the rear wheels. Only 100 examples will be built. There are two seats inside (choose either left- or right-hand drive) and thanks to a luggage compartment in the nose and two lockers ahead of the rear wheels concealed by beautiful rear-hinged blades, there’s a total of 295 litres of luggage capacity. That’s about a third more than you get from, say, a Ferrari 296 Spider. But you’d expect that, given this costs about six times as much… But why are you reading this? Hit play and let Professor Gordon Murray and Top Gear Magazine’s Ollie Kew be your guide to this hyper spider.
