I drove the BMW i7 & AMG EQS until they DIED!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D6SZfi01p4

It’s time to find out which luxury electric car will take you the further – the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53, or the BMW i7! We’ve got Mat and Daniel (the presenter from @carwowDeutschland) in both of these cars, they’ve been fully charged, and they’re going to drive them continuously up a British motorway until the batteries are fully depleted! So let’s see how the two compare. Starting with the Mercedes, we’ve got the top-of-the-range Mercedes-AMG EQS 53. As a result it comes equipped with two electric motors that can produce 658hp and 950Nm of torque. However, this car also has a £9,000 performance pack added to it, so the power output has been increased to 750hp and 1,020Nm! The EQS is also equipped with a 107.8kWh battery pack that is good for a claimed range of 357 miles. Naturally, it’s pretty heavy, weighing in at 2,580kg, and an AMG EQS fitted with the £9,000 performance pack will cost around £170,000. Next up we have the BMW. It’s the 760i edition, and just like the EQS it’s also equipped with two motors. The power output is 544hp and 745Nm of torque. It’s heavier than the EQS, at 2,640kg, and it has a 102kWh battery pack that’s good for a claimed range of 385 miles. Given it’s not the i7M (which isn’t available to buy yet), it’s cheaper than the EQS, starting from £110,000. So which will go further – the BMW, or the AMG? Comment with your guess, then sit back and see which wins! Maserati Ghibli Trofeo review: a 200mph BMW M5 Killer!?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WG7uIo04cE

This is the Maserati Ghibli Trofeo! It’s Maserati competitor to high-performance saloons such as the BMW M5 Competition & Porsche Panamera Turbo, and Mat’s about to find out if you should choose the Italian over a German! Well for starters, let’s take a peek under the bonnet, and the first thing you’ll notice is that the engine’s red. The reason it’s red is because it’s based on the engine that is used to power the Ferrari Portofino and Ferrari Roma! The power output may be down slightly compared to the Ferrari, but it’s still no slouch! It’s a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 580hp and 730Nm of torque. When it comes to power, Maserati claims it can propel the Ghibli Trofeo to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds. So it’s pretty impressive, although it’s still a full second slower than the BMW M5 Competition… When it comes to the design, the Ghibli Trofeo looks pretty similar to the regular Maserati Ghibli, although there are a few subtle changes. Up front, you’ll find vents in the bonnet and a carbon fibre splitter, and along the side, there are optional 21-inch wheels and red inlets added to the side air vents. Around the back, it’s all pretty similar to the standard car, apart from the addition of a carbon fibre rear diffuser. Take a step inside, and the design of the interior seems slightly middle of the road. If anything, it’s maybe a bit dated. Thankfully though, there are a few elements we’re really impressed with. There’s an all-new modern infotainment system in the centre of the dash, and there are also a pair of sports seats for the driver and front passenger. There’s also the option to choose a carbon fibre pack which adds carbon to the centre console, door trims and paddle shifters! So it’s a seriously smart car, but as a result, it then comes with a pretty serious price tag – £121,745! So do you think it’s worth it? Or would your money be better spent on a German competitor? BMW v Mercedes v Audi v Volvo: BEST premium SUV review

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GFV26RaDqc

If you’re in the market for a high-end plug-in hybrid SUV, which should you go for – a Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5 or Volvo XC60? Well, Mat’s got his hands on each one, and he’s about to put them all head-to-head to find out which is the #1 plug-in hybrid SUV you can get your hands on! So let’s see how they all compare. Starting with the Volvo, it’s one of the oldest cars here – but it can still keep up with these more modern plug-in hybrids! Since 2017 it’s only had a couple of minor updates made to the design and interior, but it still has a classy design, with chrome trim on the outside helping it to stand out. The interior is pretty minimalist, although controlling most features through the touchscreen infotainment system can be a bit annoying. It also has new digital dials, but they’re a bit bland. The XC60 is powered by a 2-litre turbo petrol engine and an electric motor, the T8 is the most powerful car in this line-up, being able to produce 455hp. An entry-level XC60 will set you back £47,650. Next up we have the Audi Q5. It may come with exceedingly obvious fake exhaust pipes, but it’s still one of the best-looking cars here. Just like the Volvo it comes with chrome trim on the outside, and all-in-all it looks pretty smart. The interior is well built as well, with soft-touch materials found throughout the cabin. Thankfully it comes with physical buttons for the climate control, and the digital dials are probably the best in this entire line-up. The Audi Q5 is equipped with a 2-litre turbo petrol engine & an electric motor, and this 50 TFSI e edition can produce 299hp. The Audi Q5 range is the most affordable, too, with it coming in at a price of £46,785. Next up it’s the BMW. Up front, it comes with a pretty huge grille (which will come as no surprise to our BMW fanboys & girls), but we think it makes it’s all a bit much. After all, it’s only a family-friendly SUV, so it could perhaps do with being toned down a bit. Thankfully the quality of the cabin more than makes up for this, with high-quality materials found throughout, and a pretty high-tech infotainment screen which can be controlled with a dial on the centre console. The X3 is powered by a 2-litre turbo petrol and an electric motor, but it’s the least powerful hybrid here, with the xDrive 30e only able to produce 292hp. The BMW X3 range kicks off at £47,295. Then finally we have the newest car in this line-up, the Mercedes GLC. Just like the Audi it has super prominent fake exhausts, but we still think it’s one of the best-looking cars here. It has a great side profile, and the elements of chrome trim and the running boards along the side enhance the look. It’s a positive story on the inside, too, with a large infotainment screen in the centre of the dash and a large digital dial display. You’ll find soft-touch materials throughout the cabin as well. It’s powered by a (you guessed it…) 2-litre turbo petrol with an electric motor, and these combine to produce 320hp. It’ll come as no surprise that the GLC is also the most expensive car here, being the newest, with the range starting from £52,880. But which do you think is the best – will the all-new GLC come out on top? Or does the classic XC60 stand a chance? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! Chapters

750hp BMW M3 v Porsche 911 Turbo S: DRAG RACE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3yuEvMK1hM

Thanks to R44 Performance for lending us their M3: – https://www.instagram.com/r44performance/
- https://gbp.r44performance.com/ At first glance you might think the result of this drag race is a foregone conclusion. Surely there’s no way a BMW M3 can beat a Porsche 911 Turbo S over the quarter-mile, right? Well let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Porsche, it’s powered by a glorious 3.8-litre twin-turbo straight-six that can deliver 650hp and 800Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels, and it weighs in at 1,640kg. If you were looking to pick one up, prices start from around £180,000. Then we have the BMW M3. It comes in a whole lot cheaper than the Porsche, with prices starting from around £84,000. However, this one has had around £8,000 spent on it to give it a tune… And the results are INCREDIBLE! It’s still packing a 3-litre twin-turbo straight six, but the power output has increased from 510hp & 650Nm to 750hp and 900Nm! What’s more, the weight hasn’t been affected, so it still tips the scales at 1,780kg. Could the Porsche be about to lose its drag race crown? Or will the incredible launch of the 911 propel it to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
